Lincolnshire Antiques

Lincolnshire Antiques has established itself in recent decades as a center for antiques in the UK. Whether you're a professional trader, hunter, collector or just someone who likes to take out an eye out for something old and different, then this county is for you!

interest boomed over the past 30 years with the growth of the popular television program devoted to the theme. People no longer clearing their attics "old stuff", but checking more carefully whether there is a legacy or two hidden away under dustsheets. In fact the very popular BBC "Antiques Roadshow" evaluation of the program visited the county several times, most recently a return visit to Lincoln in 2009.

Whether you are looking for something Victorian, Art Deco, Edwardian and Victorian, or maybe a nice watch or jewelry, or maybe even a part of the collector by Spode, Belleek, Clarice Cliff, Goss Cottage, or even Faberge, there is a distinct possibility you can find exactly what you're looking for in a myriad of buildings dotted around. But be warned, there is so much to choose from.

by far the most exciting Lincolnshire ancient place, and is currently the largest center in Europe, the old airfield at Hemswell, is home to over 300 dealers displaying thousands of items. Here you can spend hours exploring the three buildings on-site housing three hundred display areas filled with everything and anything old you could possibly think of - antiques, collectables, furniture, curios. Enjoy hours of browsing through the treasures from the past, all in one convenient place.

and Horncastle - once called "the best place for antiques" - and Stamford, also known for its buildings, some interesting places to visit. There are other cities that have become popular over the years for Lincolnshire antique shopping, and they include Boston, Market Rasen, Louth and Sutton Bridge - you will not have trouble finding some fascinating showrooms display some fine pieces from all eras.

There are also regular auctions throughout the country - and, of course, some fantastic exhibitions. There is an ongoing program in the county during the summer - Swinderby, Lincoln Showground, Stamford, Grimsthorpe and more - there are bound to one end where you stay, so the best information and advice, check locally when you arrive <. / P>

Who knows, you just grab May surprising bargain of the century which will run on the Antiques Roadshow with your find?
