Finding a suitable foster parents for many children living in state custody in the ongoing battle. Some families are lucky to be in foster children, hoping to find a supportive environment while legally adopted. It takes a generous soul, a unique ability to overcome the heart ache to offer a home of this kind. Other parents quickly find that they have grown so bound to encourage children to adopt children and themselves removed from the promotion system. Foster care is not a permanent condition, and children can be removed from foster care for a variety of reasons. If foster parents do not want to care for a child, they can ask for a reassignment. Other reasons a child may be removed from the house include personal wishes of the child or restoration of parental rights.
Some children remain in foster homes for many years without ever being adopted by foster parents. Others remain in a foster home for years only to be pulled out of the house leaving a biological parent nurturing a couple devastated by the loss of a child.
Gay and lesbian couples who want to open their homes as foster parents should only apply to local agencies for approval. Some states are more respectful of the gay and lesbian rights, and others are not.
